YAG laser capsulotomy is a quick, painless outpatient laser procedure that opens a small clear window in the centre of this cloudy capsule, restoring a clear path for light to reach the retina. It does not involve any incision.

- Patients whose vision has become blurry, hazy, or glare-prone some time after otherwise successful cataract surgery, due to posterior capsule opacification.
- Patients experiencing double vision in one eye or difficulty with glare from lights, linked to a wrinkled or hazy capsule.
